A Clinical Evaluation of Amlika Patra Swaras (Tamarindus Indica Juice) in the Treatment of Twacha Rog (Skin Disease) With Specific Reference to Fungal Infection

Abstract

Ayurveda stands as one of the most ancient and well-documented systems of medicine, maintaining its relevance in contemporary healthcare. The objective of Ayurveda is to achieve homeostasis within the body’s tissues, thereby promoting health. However, Ayurveda often faces scrutiny regarding the rationality of its prescriptions. Drug research, which is an integral part of Ayurveda, is one of the important divisions in the field of research, which is ever progressing without frontiers. Now a days people are very much conscious about their health and personality. The skin disease will not only affect their physique but also disturbs their mental status. In Ayurveda Kushtha is considered as the Rakta pradoshaja vikara. Many formulations given by Archaryas in kushtha Chiktsa, while many Shaman Lepa is indicated in the Kshudra kushtha Chikitsa. Amlika is mentioned Bhavaprakasha.6 Amlika Patra Swarasa Lepana is used in the treatment of Dadru7 which is mainly having Kaphavataghna properties. As this chapter stands very important in many ways for a physician or a research scholar, we had taken the Amlika Patra Swaras for the study. This clinical study has been found beneficial for the society.
