Abstract

Lean initiatives and flexible manufacturing strategies are required to be competitive in today’s crowded and rapidly changing consumer-driven market. In today's crowded and continuously changing consumer-driven industry, lean initiatives and flexible manufacturing strategies are necessary to stay competitive. Companies of all sizes are realizing the importance of being flexible and lean to support the need to be flexible and lean. Digital manufacturing technologies may be used to define, simulate, validate, and automate production processes better manufacturing operations without the high cost and time associated with traditional methods.
