Abstract

This article aimed to ensure some motivational factors to improve reading ability and communication skills of children at home during Covid-19 Pandemic. The deadly corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has caused a dramatic impact to the country’s educational system. The impact resulted into the postponement of the regular opening of classes in June to October and the cancellation of the traditional face-to-face classes as substituted by a modular distance learning approach in the entire Philippines. With this current teaching-learning approach, school children’s reading ability and communication skills could decline during the pandemic. COVID-19 could have led to a great loss in learning compared to a regular school-year thus, motivational factors to improve kids’ reading ability and communication skills at home is crucial.
